We are thrilled to announce the release of our new album, He Staggered Across The Floor. Born from an experiment, this album takes flute melodies and sends them through layers of effect loops, feeding the transformed sounds back into the loop repeatedly. The result? A mesmerising exploration of minimal noise, a departure from our previous works as a duo.

The album is available as a limited edition CDr, featuring exclusive, hand-designed covers by artist Sonja Ackermann – each one a unique piece of art.

For those who prefer digital formats, the album is also available for download and on all major streaming platforms.

But that’s not all! Two of our tracks are featured on the compilation accompanying the latest edition of Means Magazine. The cover image for both the magazine and the compilation comes from a photograph by rabirius.

Additionally, one of our tracks appears on ArrhythNia Records Compilation #5, an extensive collection of experimental and noise music that is well worth a listen.

rabirius has also been busy with mastering work, having lent his skills to the compilation Justification of Major by AEMC Records, as well as the latest album by The Given Ghost – both of which you should definitely check out.

Meanwhile, mockART continues to work on a live album and a remix album compiling all the remixes of La Bête Noire. Stay tuned—we’ll have more updates for you soon!

After completing views | interrupted we noticed that we didn’t include any guest musicians. Therefore we were wondering what it would have sounded like if we had involved further musicians – and so the idea for a views | remixed was born.

We decided to remix all six tracks of the original album and found some fellow musicians who agreed to remix some of the tracks. Whispered, Medicine Lake, Urhixidur and Morteza Jahangiri all gave their best and we both agree that their versions of our music surpass the usual remix and became a new track entirely. So, of course, we are completely happy with the results.

As the original material was more ambient and completely without beats we also decided to experiment with beats and loops and also created new versions of two tracks that are also included in the original album.

If you have not heard the original album yet, we also decided to offer it as a free download on Bandcamp for a limited period. So hurry!

You might remember that views | interrupted was part of an art exhibition that featured pictures by rabirius. Therefore he remixed his pictures for the cover artwork. The video clips for the singles Parklife, The Takeover and (Trapped) Between Towers were animated versions of the pictures in the exhibition, so they are – sort of – also remixed versions.

As you can see, we tried to play with the concept of remixes quite a lot and gave our best to reshape, rearrange and reassemble the material at hand to create something entirely new.

First, we are sorry that we haven’t kept you up to date. But so many things were happening at the same time. Especially for me, rabirius, who maintains this webseite.

Apart from many things mockART, there were also a lot of things rabirius to take care of, like a couple of exhibitions. For one of the exhibitions we also created a soundtrack that also is our new album, views | interrupted. For the exhibition I teamed up with Sonja Ackermann and Christian Rocas. We all created six artworks that relate to each other and gave them all the same name. With a topic like that, Christoph and I just had to convert these themes into music, so it became our new album. Though the exhibition is over now, you can still have a little peak through the window.

The new album was first made available at the exhibition. Remaining copies of the CD you can purchase on Bandcamp. Certainly, the album is available at the usual streaming sites. Please check the music section for direct links. Also, we have some fresh merchandise for the new album, which you can find at our shop.

At the moment we are working with other artists on a couple of remixes. We will publish them first on the usual streaming sites and later collect them as a remix EP. We will keep you updated.

Also, we have started working on our new album. At this point we don’t want to disclose anything about the project, but we will definitely let you listen to a new track or two early next year.

Finally, we released our new album Men Who Lost Their Heads. The album features 18 tracks, including our latest singes Lizard People, Betörve, Samesjwaering Onger Idiote and A Stronger Climate.

Created under lockdown conditions we made consistent and pandemic-related use of the digital possibilities of contactless music-making – together and yet separately, social but with distancing, virus-proof and yet highly infectious.

The idea was to create an album about conspiracy theories and paranoia that spread with the Covid pandemic. The guest vocalists include Léda Szemerédi, Mark Daelmans-Sikkel, Bernd Geiling, Thanatoloop and Ümit Kaya. Special thanks go to Levente Dudás for recording some of the vocals at his N/O/E/W/A Creative Music Studio.

We released the album as a deluxe 6-panel digipak CD and to the usual streaming services. There also is a limited edition CD with a special cover created by Sonja Ackermann.

This album is part of the Communal Music series. AEMC created this ongoing experiment as an exploration of the usage of audio sources, the methodology of experimental ambient composers and sound in general.

Beforehand, each composer contributed audio – recorded instruments, field recordings, analog synthesizers, etc – resulting in a collective sample pack. The composers then had to translate this audio material to a musical composition. They weren’t allowed to add anything, so each composition is made with the same audio material.

It is striking to hear how the audio is interpreted, used and contextualized differently by the individual composers and how diverse and unique the compositions are. This clarifies the agency of the creators: they – not the audio – make the music. On the other hand, the audio sources demarcate a certain musical terrain, similar as to the limits of an acoustic instrument.

Above all, the Communal Music series is a celebration of experimental music and the collaboration between – often underappreciated – artists.
